How To Exfoliate Your Lips & Make DIY Lip Scrub

Chronic dry lips? I feel you sis! During the winter months, dry lips is definitely an issue or just licking your lips too much can be a problem (guilty). Sometimes it seems as if lip moisturizers such as chap stick aren’t doing enough because your lips still appear flaky. NO ONE wants flaky lips underneath their lipstick because it’s definitely still noticeable.

Exfoliating your lips will get rid of all chapping, allowing for your lips to appear smooth and kissable! And no, that doesn’t mean getting a tooth brush and scrubbing the crap out of your lips (guilty again lol). However, be sure to not over exfoliate your lips as well because doing so can have negative effects as opposed to positive ones. I recommend exfoliating your lips at least once a week for the best results.

Benefits of Lip Exfoliation:

· Gets rid of dead skin cells

· Increase blood flow, allowing for lips to appear plumper/fuller

· Gets rid of dark spots

You can either purchase pre-made lip scrubs or you can make your own! Here’s my favorite DIY recipe!

  • Ingredients: 3 tsp. of white sugar 1/2 tsp. of jojoba oil (or other oil of your choice) 1/2 tsp. of honey 1/2 a lemon

Directions:

  1. Pour the sugar into a bowl, followed by the oil of your choice.

  2. Next, add the honey.

  3. For flavor, add an extract (we love lemon).

  4. Mix everything together so that the oil, honey, and lemon are evenly distributed across the sugar.

  5. Scrub your lips in a circular motion for two to three minutes—you can actually lick it off since it is completely edible (it’s actually pretty tasty).
