What Are The Different Types of Foundation
Foundation comes in different shapes and forms, in which some work better with certain skin types than others. Deciding which one works best for you is a test and trial process and gives you a reason to go to the store and buy makeup lol. Currently I’m in love with using cream foundations and they are my go to’s at the moment! The different types of foundations are as follows:
Liquid Foundation
Liquid foundation is easy to build on and are easily mixed with other foundations to create the perfect shade. They’re great for all skin types and provide a wide range of coverage, from extremely sheer to full.
Cream Foundation
Cream foundations are heavier than liquid foundations and provide fuller coverage. However, be sure to apply in minimal amount because a little bit does go a long way. Too much and one can begin to look cakey, especially after applying other makeup on top of it.
Stick Foundation
Stick foundations are perfect for traveling and can also be used as a concealer. Similar to cream foundation in regard to the coverage level; however, they are typically made with oils. Thus, if you have oily skin, you may want to avoid this type of foundation.
Powder Foundation
Powder foundations are ideal for oily skin, in which it contrasts the oil providing a mattifying. If you have dry skin, you may want to steer clear because it will only make wrinkles and flakes appear more noticeable.
Mineral Foundation
Mineral Foundation is made out of crushed minerals and are perfect someone who has sensitive skin or acne. They are typically loose powders and very lightweight on one’s skin.
